Course Reviews
“I can’t tell you how much I enjoy Caroline’s classes. Having attended in person, I now love online too…Both are great in very different ways. Each class inspires and somehow gives the encouragement to write without pressure. I have done a few classes over the years but never felt so relaxed and achieved what pleased me so happily.
We all surprise ourselves inspired by Caroline’s lesson outlines that are so detailed. Her research on our behalf has widened my reading in a delightful and surprising way. Stuff I would never have discovered and some old favourites revisited. I think we all look forward to opening the email or going to meet each week. Some have had books etc published, helped by her advice and others like me just bumble happily along and think … ‘Who knows…. one day?!’ …
I am always encouraged, and comments on writing, which she always takes great trouble over, make you feel that your writing is valued and her suggestions invaluable. Maybe have a look at her published work? She is quite something. Her family and nature inspire her. I have a lot to thank Caroline for.”

“Caroline Greville is an excellent tutor. She has been an inspiration to myself as someone who has come to creative writing late in life. Her teaching style is relaxed and the class-plan subjects encourage lively creative discussion among fellow group members whether their ambitions are writing short stories, novels or poetry.”

“I have attended Caroline Greville’s Creative Writing Classes for approximately ten years. During that time I have experienced continuous skilled tuition… each week a new topic backed up by relevant research and resources. We are given the opportunity to write during class and for homework, on subjects appertaining to the week’s themes. There are always interesting, relevant examples for us to read and talk about, both classical, modern. and quirky authors’ examples set out on our sheets. There are opportunities for everybody to air their views but there is no obligation and we can do as little or as much as we are comfortable with.
Caroline makes each one of us feel special. She reads all our writing and will make encouraging comments about the work and will gently suggest another way if needed. I can’t imagine a better or more dedicated teacher than Caroline Greville. I have reached a stage where a novel has slowly formed from my imagination, something which wouldn’t have come about without her kindly encouragement. I would recommend her Creative Writing Classes to anyone who has a serious desire to write.”

“I have been a member of Caroline’s Creative Writing classes for some four years now and like everyone, I imagine, was nervous to be taking what felt to be a massive step into the unknown after years of promising myself I would do it! I needn’t have had any concerns though: Caroline is warm, empathetic, encouraging and just so talented. A natural teacher. Caroline is extraordinarily generous with her time and patience. Every week I marvel at the amount of preparation she has put into the class and how, from a subject I might feel I have no connection with, I find all sorts of unexpected creativity flowing. One of the many delights is that Caroline takes you out of your usual genre and shows you that you can produce something different. The camaraderie between Caroline and all of the class members is exceptional and we have become a really loyal group giving each other support and lots of laughter along the way.
Caroline has endless patience with my grammar downfalls and I have learned so much about tenses, layout and different styles of writing. Caroline has first-hand knowledge on editing and the various routes available for publishing should that be your goal. At the end of the day though there is never any pressure to perform and Caroline manages to draw out the very best from each of her class members. I would recommend her classes to anyone in a heartbeat.”

“I have always loved attending these writing sessions. Even if I feel disinclined to write on the odd occasion, by the time we have discussed the motivational material Caroline has provided, my imagination has ignited, my writer’s block has vanished, and I have achieved things I never thought I could. She is inspirational.”

“Caroline Greville is an excellent tutor of Creative Writing at all levels and I have learned so much as her student. She is quietly professional and has an enviable ability to relax her students and draw them together in helpful, friendly groups. From my experience I have really enjoyed and benefitted from Caroline’s classes.”
